in student personnel and experience in student housing affairs.
ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT FOR
HOUSING AND AUXILIARY ENTERPRISES perform functions similar to those listed for
a Housing Director (now Director of Residential Life) but also has responsibilities
for some auxiliary enterprises on a campus.
Housing Director
(Director of Residential Life)directs the student-housing program of a campus.
Develops, implements and evaluates a program of student housing consistent with
the educational program of the campus; helps recruit and supervises subordinate
professional housing staff; assists specific academic officers with the development
of academic programs accommodated in residence halls; aids in developing special
living situations to accommodate selective identifiable populations involved in
a special intellectual experience or academic program; oversees the residence
halls operation including: controlling of housing assignments of students; supervising
application procedures; approving room rent contracts; receiving rent, room deposits
and making refunds; approving room transfers; controlling and maintaining inventory
of facilities, space, equipment and supplies; coordinating housekeeping and inspection;
coordinating student services; assisting in facilities planning; and maintaining
student address control; also oversees off-campus housing and maintains a list
of College approved housing to aid students wishing to reside off-campus; works
closely with other offices of the College, such as auxiliary services and Student
Affairs, to see that necessary services are provided to students in their living
areas.
