Appointment Policy

When you make an appointment with a tutor, it is a firm appointment. This means that you must show up for the appointment and arrive on time. If you need to cancel an appointment, you must do so well in advance of the appointment date. Our policy is a “3 strikes and you’re out” policy. Be aware, though, that most offenses count as 2 strikes. The list of offenses and their penalties are listed below.

• If you do not show up for a scheduled appointment, then you will receive 2 strikes.
• If you show up more than 15 minutes late without notifying an SLC staff member, then you will receive 2 strikes.
• If you cancel an appointment less than an hour in advance, then you will receive 2 strikes.
• If you cancel an appointment less than 12 hours in advance, then you will receive 1 strike.

If you receive 3 or more strikes in a semester, then you will be banned from receiving tutoring by appointment.
