SUNY Brockport and the Community
"Brockport was scaled to people, not cars. It had the variety that comes from a mixed-use community. We loved rubbing elbows on the streets, meeting friends as we walked or biked to class. We loved the peace and quiet of a small town at night." Our students enjoy living in the village of Brockport, with its historic Victorian architecture, quaint shops, restaurants, a movie theater and other conveniences. Malls, professional sporting events, concerts, festivals and museums are nearby. Adding to the village's sense of history is the Erie Canal, which runs alongside the campus through the village. It provides opportunity for hiking, biking, boating and cross-country skiing. If you're looking for the action of city life, Rochester is 20 minutes from campus, Buffalo is less than an hour away, and Toronto, Canada is an easy two-hour drive. And places like Boston, New York City and Washington, DC, are just short plane rides away. Areas of Local Interest
