Student Persistence Rate
- First-to-second year retention rates have increased from 76.8% (2001 cohort) to a current status of 85.1% (2009 cohort).
- Second-to-third year retention has increased from 67.6% (2001 cohort) to a current status of 78.4% (2008 cohort).
- Third-to-fourth year retention has increased from 63.0% (2001 cohort) to a current status of 68.8% (2006 cohort).
- Five year graduation rates have increased from 48.7% (1996 cohort) to a current status of 62.6% (2004 cohort).
- Six year graduation rates have increased from 52.4% (1996 cohort) to a current status of 66.6% (2004 cohort).
Class of 2009 Alumni Placement Report
The report presents an overview and analysis of the post-graduate accomplishments of the baccalaureate and master's graduates of the class of 2009 (December 2008 and January, May, and August 2009). Not all respondents answered all questions.
Summary of Baccalaureate Degree Data:
- The baccalaureate degree survey response rate was 74%
- Of all respondents there was a 92% placement rate which is a 1% increase over 2008. Of those placed:
- 542 were employed only (65%)
- 87 were enrolled only (10%)
- 138 were employed and enrolled (16%)
- 71 were seeking employment or not in the job market (9%)
- Of those (employed full-time only) who responded to the employment relatedness question, 82% reported that their employment related to their academic and/or career goals.
- Of those who reported the state where they were employed, 97% remained in New York State which was a 7% increase from last year.
- 27% of the baccalaureate respondents are pursuing further education at institutions that include:
- Carnegie Mellon University
- McGill University
- New York University
- Niagara University
- Northeastern University
- Notre Dame
- Ohio University
- Rochester Institute of Technology
- Springfield College
- St. John Fisher College
- SUNY University at Binghamton
