Application Status

*Please read all the information below before logging in*

Applicants may check the status of their application online.

The Banner Online Services page lists instructions on how to log in. If this is your first visit time, your PIN is your birthdate. Once you log in, you will be prompted for a new PIN. Be sure to note the new PIN, as Undergraduate Admissions will not be able to tell you your password or reset your password.

Once logged in, select 'Student Services & Financial Aid' then select 'Admissions.' The semester you're applying for will be listed under Admission Term. Click on the semester to view your application status. Please note that once the semester begins, this information will no longer be available.

Your status will be indicated next to 'Application Status.' If it says:

'Incomplete items outstanding' - scroll to the bottom of the page to see what we need to make your application complete.

'Complete' - your application is under review.

'Decision Made' - this indicates that a decision has been made and you will receive a decision letter in the mail soon. Admissions decisions are not given out over the phone, in person or via e-mail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I am applying for childhood education, but when I log on, it says I am undeclared.  Why is that?

A: Childhood education, as well as Adolescent education, is a certification program at SUNY Brockport, not an academic major.  Students pursuing teacher certification must complete an appropriate academic major in addition to the requirements of the teacher certification program.  A list of majors students can pursue for childhood and adolescent education is available on the Department of Education and Human Development’s website.  While we don’t take an applicant’s intended major into consideration when making a decision, you can e-mail us with your intended major at admit@brockport.edu.

Q: I am a freshman applicant. My file is complete but I haven't heard yet. When can I expect to get a decision?

A: Freshman applicants will have a decision letter sent to them in the mail 2 or 3 weeks after a decision has been made on their application. Most will have a decision by the end of March.

Q: My application was complete before and now it says incomplete. Why is that?

A: When we review applications, we may find that we need additional information or discover that the application is not complete. Scroll to the bottom of the Application Summary page and it will list what we need before we can make a decision. Please forward the requested information to us at the address at the bottom of this page. Find descriptions for some of our common requests here.

Q: I applied recently, but I can't log on to check the status of my application.

A: Once the Application Service Center receives your application, it may take 2 to 3 weeks for it to be processed and received by the college. Therefore, your application may have not been received yet at Brockport. Please check back in a week or two. Applicants for the fall semester can access their application status beginning November 15th. Spring applicants may begin August 1st.

Q: I sent an unofficial transcript but it says you still need my transcript to make a decision. Why is that?

A: We require freshmen applicants to submit an official high school transcript and SAT/ACT scores. Transfer applicants are also required to submit official transcripts from each college attended. Fax transcripts are not considered official.

Q: I forgot my PIN. What do I need to do?

A: Go to the Banner Online Services page. Input your User ID and hit the "Forgot PIN?" button below it. If you experience difficulties with your PIN, call (585) 395-2531 between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
