Announcement regarding The College at Brockport’s Physical Education re-admit applications
We are no longer accepting Physical Education re-admit applications for fall 2008. Applicants who have applied for fall 2008 for Physical Education and whose file is incomplete have until Friday, April 18, 2008 at 9:30 am to complete their application to be considered for fall. We will begin to review spring 2009 applications in August.
Thank you for your interest in applying for readmission
to SUNY College at Brockport. We are delighted that you have decided
to continue course work to complete your baccalaureate degree. As
you continue this process, I hope you will remember that SUNY Brockport
has as its highest priority the success of its students. We value
the range of experiences our students bring both to the classroom
and the College community as a whole.
Formerly matriculated students who have separated from
the college, either through graduation, academic dismissal or for
whom a leave
of absence has expired re-enter the College through the readmission
process if they want to be matriculated.
Applying
To be considered for readmission to SUNY Brockport, students need
to submit the readmission application
available from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions after speaking
with an admissions advisor. Readmit applicants must also submit official
transcripts from any Colleges/University the student attended while
separated from SUNY Brockport. All applicants are required to pay
a $40 application fee. Students seeking readmission should file the
request for readmission no later than four weeks before the start
of classes for the term in which they plan to return. You can check

Credentials
If more then five years have lapsed since last attending SUNY Brockport,
applicants must also submit official transcript from colleges they
attended prior to SUNY Brockport along with the official transcripts
from colleges attended since leaving SUNY Brockport.
A personal statement, resume', or student biography
is recommended for submission. Applicants who were academically dismissed
are required to write a statement (see below).
Readmission decisions
Readmitted students are matriculated under the current
catalog and are required to meet degree and program requirements
at the time of readmission. Also, the Business
Department has enacted a policy that courses completed more than
10 years prior to matriculation cannot be used to satisfy business
degree requirements and must be repeated.
Readmission after Academic Dismissal
Students who have been academically dismissed from SUNY Brockport
may apply for readmission to the College at least two academic semesters
following their dismissal. Students are strongly encouraged to take
at least two transferable courses at another college receiving a "C"
or better prior to readmission.
Applicants must submit a personal statement addressing:
· What they have been doing since leaving SUNY Brockport
· Previous academic experience while at SUNY Brockport
· Factors that led to their dismissal
· Changes made to ensure their success if offered readmission
Students can only be readmitted once following an
academic dismissal.
Readmits for Second Degree
Previously enrolled undergraduates who wish to return to SUNY Brockport
to complete a second baccalaureate degree need to submit the second
degree readmission application, also available in Undergraduate Admissions.
Second degree readmission applications and all necessary transcripts
must be received by December 1st for spring entry and August 1st for

Readmission for Graduation Purposes
Students who wish to complete their degree requirements at another
approved academic institution in order to complete their degree at
SUNY Brockport must meet the following criteria:
1. Students must have a 2.0 SUNY Brockport cumulative GPA
2. Applicants must be within 12 credits of completing their degree*
3. Degree requirements must be completed within one year
4. The decision to readmit must be approved by the Office of Undergraduate
Admissions and the Registrar
5. Students in this category must not expect Financial Aid from SUNY
Brockport
* Readmitted students are readmitted under the current
catalog and are required to meet updated degree and program requirements
at the time of readmission.
