We recognize the importance of staying in tune with the ever changing regulations surrounding School Counseling. Please feel free to visit either American Counseling Association or American School Counselor Association. In addition, you may want to visit the New York State chapter of ASCA, New York State School Counselor Association. All provide resources, services, products and information in order to assist you in your success.
If you are looking for specific assistance with a student and his/her standardized tests, College Board (SAT) and ACT offer a multitude of information pertaining to each exam (the SAT and ACT) You will find the testing schedule on each Web site as well as prepratory assistance and opportunities to register for the tests.
If you have students who are concerned with the cost of their college education, SallieMae is a lending company that offers many helpful hints for students and their families in the college planning process. In addition, Career and College Planning Resources provides links for school counselors including resources to self assessments, career planning, career development and college planning. Also, if you are looking for information from the admissions perspective, please feel free to visit the Web site for National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC). There you will find the same tools offered to Admissions Professionals.
Last but not least, you may want to visit NCAA- National Collegiate Athletic Association. This site is an excellent resource should you have a college bound athlete as it provides guidelines for competitive collegiate athletics.
