Why did you choose Brockport?
There are three main reasons that I chose Brockport:
What is your most memorable experience at Brockport?
I have too many memorable experiences at Brockport to only pick one. Some of my most memorable experiences at Brockport are my experience studying abroad in Vietnam, the moment I realized I could complete my bachelor’s degree in 2 ½ years, participating in a food tasting to select which dishes would be served at the annual International Festival at Brockport, and definitely the moments spent with some very important individuals in my life that I would not have met if I was not at Brockport.
What is your favorite thing about Brockport?
My favorite thing about Brockport is that it is big enough to always have new opportunities and challenges, but small enough to form meaningful relationships.
Who was your favorite professor at Brockport?
I had a lot of great professors and classes that I genuinely enjoyed learning from. If I had to pick, Jim Georger and Lynne Gardner were (are) great professors and advisors to me throughout my time at Brockport.
How would you describe your faculty?
The faculty is very supportive and approachable.
How did Brockport prepare you for your career of choice?
How has your experience at Brockport shaped your life?
Brockport helped me discover my passion in higher education, taught me the beauty of being a life learner, helped me realize my potential and provided me with the confidence to take on new challenges.
What is one thing every student needs to try at Brockport?
Every student should take advantage of the study abroad opportunities at Brockport. Brockport offers many types of study abroad programs in various countries, lengths of time, academic majors, and interests.
What advice would you give to future students?
Challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone and be receptive to different ideas. Put yourself in a new environment, discover new interests, meet different kinds of people, or become active in organizations, etc.
What should a future student never leave at home for college?
Photos from home and a can-opener (it’s very handy).
