Democracy ProjectThe American Democracy (ADP) Committee is pleased to solicit proposals from academic departments and other program areas for up to $2000 to participate in the Distinguished Speakers Series. The series is designed to bring distinguished speakers to campus focusing on the general ADP mission – to increase civic engagement of students. The Lecture Series will consist of four departmental/program area speakers. ADP has focused on several different initiatives, including but not limited to:
Proposals can include these themes or other related topics that fall
under the general mission of the ADP. Additional information about the
ADP is available at: http://www.aascu.org/programs/adp/default.htm.
Interdisciplinary proposals are especially encouraged. Preference
will be given to topics other than those addressed during prior semesters' ADP Speaker Series.
We invite your department or program area to participate in this speaker
series. Each grant of up to $2,000 should be divided between a speaker’s
honorarium and expenses such as hotel, airfare, etc.
In order to be considered for this funding your department will need to demonstrate the following:
Complete the Distinguished Speakers Series application
form and return it to Dr. Barbara LeSavoy, ADP Steering Committee,
(EOP, C25-A Cooper Hall).
