Arts for Children - Interdisciplinary Program

Arts

Community Involvement

The Arts for Children program has always been oriented toward serving the community beyond the college campus. We are proud of our extensive community interactions and collaborative associations. Each of these real-world experiences better prepares our students for success upon graduation. Over the years, our students have gained field experiences through placement at:

  • Strong Museum, National Museum of Play (one of the top 10 children's museums in the US)
  • George Eastman House International Museum of Photography
  • School of Garth Fagan Dance
  • Project UNIQUE (United Now for Integrated Quality Urban and Suburban Education), an arts learning lab
  • Bush Mango Drum and Dance
  • Rochester Broadway Theatre League
  • Many Greater Rochester area and Monroe County schools

Students also actively participate in performance and arts exhibition opportunities both on and off campus. The Program further encourages students to diversify their experiences through study and service beyond Brockport. Most recently, some of our students have expanded their knowledge and practice at Disney World and in Australia, Ghana, and England.
