Victor (Vic) Beck '84
Class Year: 1984
What you are doing now: I am in charge of a 24 hour a day media operation at the Multi-National Force in Baghdad. My team is responsible for accurately communicating to audiences around the world what’s happening on the ground with Coalition forces throughout Iraq.

Favorite professor at Brockport: David Van Wie (WBSU’s first General Manager)
Most memorable Brockport moment: WBSU trip to Washington D.C.
Most interesting life experience: Circumnavigating South America.
Most famous person I have met: Dick Cheney
Last book read: The World is Flat by Tom Friedman
CD most likely to find in your stereo: At the moment: Pearl Jam and Rear View Mirror.
Favorite movie: The Great Escape
Favorite vacation spot: New Harbor, Maine
Family: My wife is Debby, our son Josh is 13, and our daughter Rachel is 10.
What do you want to be doing next year: Spending more time with my family and running corporate communications for a public company or large organization.
What do you want to be doing in 20 years: Traveling to interesting places with Debby, enjoying my children and their lives, and consulting on difficult communication challenges – on my own schedule.
Message to the students of today: Anything you do has the potential to be digitized and placed online by someone. Embrace this unbridled communication channel and use it to your advantage.
