What you are doing now: I am a member of the New York State Assembly, as well as an attorney in private practice.
Major(s): Political Science with a minor in Communication Studies
Favorite class at Brockport: The Albany Semester, NYS Senate
Favorite professor at Brockport: Dr. Stephen Ullman
Most memorable Brockport moment: “Ghost” hunting in Hartwell Hall one late night before exams and finding the old pool area.
Most interesting life experience: Maintaining a balance between the public and private parts of my life as an elected official.
Most famous person(s) you have met: Quarterback Joe Montana, Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush.
Last book read: The Devil in the White City, nonfiction by Erik Larson
CD most likely to find in your stereo: The Rising, by Bruce Springsteen
Favorite Movie: Forrest Gump
Favorite vacation spot: Beaches of Wailea in Maui, Hawaii
Family: Wife, Lori (Brockport, Business Administration, 1993); daughters Emily, 12 and Allison, 4.
What you want to be doing next year: Continuing to represent the 142nd District in the State Assembly.
What you want to be doing in 20 years: No matter what the next twenty years have in store professionally, I hope they continue to bring health and happiness to my family and a sense of service to our community.
Message to the students of today: Work hard and take your studies seriously. But do take time to enjoy the collegiate experience at Brockport. Memories made in college will last a lifetime!
