1970s

James F. Habel '78 has had a 30-year career in education in the state of New Jersey. He has served as teacher of physical education and been a head football coach, winning several conference championships and two state championships.  As a wrestling coach he won six conference championships and produced numerous district, county, regional and state place winners while compiling a career record of 166 wins and 37 losses.  After teaching and coaching for 16 years, he has served as an assistant principal, principal and, for the past six years, as superintendent of the Wall Township School District in New Jersey.  He received his Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University in 1998.   

James Barbarino '79 was recently featured in Long Island Newsday's weekly Sunday piece titled "Who's Cooking?"

John Fischer '79 has been named brewmaster at High Falls Brewing Company in Rochester.

Dave Kane '79 has been nominated as a finalist for a Marconi Award in the category of Medium Market Personality of the Year by the National Association of Broadcasters.  Kane works at WCMF-FM in Rochester.

Anne Willkens Leach '79 has been named superintendent of schools for the Catholic Diocese of Rochester.

1980s

Douglas Owens '85 has been named as Chief, Individual Assistance-Technical Assistance Contracts and as Program Manager for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  In this role, he provides temporary housing and mass care assistance to disaster survivors.  He holds professional certifications in Program and Project Management, and a master's degree in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Kathleen Guyette '87 has been named vice president and chief nursing officer for Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC.

Patricia Galinski '89 retired from the Gates-Chili School District where she was assistant principal at the high school.  She earned her certificate of advanced study at the College.

1990s

Roderick Green '95 has been appointed to the position of Executive Director for Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection's Rochester operations.  He has a master's in public administration from the College.

Nancy E. Feingold '96, a special education teacher on Long Island, got engaged on June 6, 2008 to Charles P. Kastan, owner of a promotional products company. He popped the question in front of many students, parents, and teachers on Field Day, in front of the Mister Softee Ice Cream Truck.  Nancy and Charlie plan to get married in 2009.

Phillip Kurimski '97 has been named a Senior Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Detroit, MI.  Previously, he was a meteorologist with the NWS in Green Bay, WI.

Gretchen Ecklund Smith '98 is a recreation therapist for VA Hudson Valley Health Care System in Castle Point, NY.  She and her husband, Rich '97, have two boys, Logan (4 years) and Gunnar (21 months).

2000s

Matthew Andrews '00 has been named women's soccer coach at Medaille College in Buffalo.  He has a master's in liberal studies from Brockport.

Kevin McLeary '00 is an analyst for the federal government and works in Washington, DC.  He and his wife had their second child, Caden, in April.

Traci Lian '03, the former women's lacrosse coach at The College at Brockport, where she earned her master's degree in physical education, has been named the women's lacrosse coach at her undergraduate alma mater, Nazareth College.

Seth Piccirillo '04 was named assistant manager of Government Affairs for the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority in Buffalo. He has a master's in public administration from the College in 2006.

Stacy Pottinger '07 participated in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's summer "Dancemakers" concert at UWM.  She has a master's degree in dance education from Brockport.

Weddings

Karin Freeland '02 and Daniel Aviles '02 were married on July 12, 2008.

Births

Lauralee Sprague '96 announces the birth of Matthew Rian Snyder on May 2, 2008. 

Gregg Pastore '99 and his wife, Stacy, announce the birth of their second son, Caden Bryant, on June 12, 2008.  He joins brother, Tyler.

Bridget Regalbuto de Lutio '00 and Jonathan de Lutio '01 announce the birth of their first child, Anthony Victor de Lutio, on December 6, 2007.

Renee (Root) McQuillen '00 and Todd McQuillen '01 announce the birth of Evan Pierson Sean on October 15, 2007.

Delia H. Rhodes '00 and Jeff Rhodes announce the birth of their first grandchild, Ethan Antonio, born to son Matt Rhodes and his wife, Anna Price, on October 4th, 2007.
