James E. Meyer '66 will be honored as a recipient of the prestigious Gilbert Tilles Award.  This award recognizes an individual whose unique qualities furthers the goals of philanthropy, motivates others through leadership to participate in philanthropic endeavors, and compels personal commitment of time, effort and financial resources to one or more not-for-profits.   James E. Meyer's accomplishments will be celebrated at the Awards Luncheon of Philanthropy Day 2009 on Friday, November 20, at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale, NY.  

Steve Nash '69 sadly reported that on Feb. 16, 2009, his sister, Charla, was attacked by a chimpanzee in Connecticut.  Although she suffered multiple injuries, she has miraculously survived.  Charla will hopefully be moved from the hospital to a rehabilitation center.  Steve is asking for you to keep Charla and the Nash family in your thoughts and prayers.  Information about Charla's progress can be found at www.friendsofcharlienash.com. 1970s

Daniel M. Foro '75 is Deputy Commissioner for the Division of Criminal Justice Services in Albany.  Foro oversees the Office of Criminal Justice Operations, which includes the New York State Identification Bureau, the Criminal History Repository, and the Missing and Exploited Children Clearinghouse.  His office handles operation of the state's fingerprinting system and rap sheets.

Dave Evans '77 has been appointed as a strategic advisor at Webtech, a Social Media Advisory firm, to its Strategy Consulting practice.  Evans will work with 20:20 Webtech's clients enabling the successful delivery of social media marketing strategy programs in India.

Craig Avery '78, owner of Erdo Development LLC, also is a program instructor for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy.   YEA teaches middle and high school students how to start and run their own business.  The program focuses on how to write a business plan, find investors, obtain funding and launch a company or social movement.  It ends with a trip to the county clerk's office where students file a DBA application and then present their idea to a panel that may award startup funds.  Avery co-founded and ran Waste Technology Services in the '80s and an environmental consulting firm in the '90s.  For more information on this program, call (716) 286-8181 or go to niagara.edu/cce/yea.htm.

1980s

Lisa Sanford '89 has been named as the new Hornell High School principal.  Sanford taught global studies at Hornell High School for 15 years before working in the Rush- Henrietta Central School District for about four years as the curriculum director of social studies and foreign languages.

1990s

Maria Connie Castaneda '90 was officially sworn in as mayor of the Village of Brockport on July 6.

Kristin A. Crage '92 has had her first novel, Between Humans and Animals, published.  The story is unique and one she developed over a nine-year period with an incredible amount of research.

Brenda Tremblay '94 has taken over as the morning radio host at WXXI, Rochester. Tremblay sings in the Rochester Oratorio Society and directs a church choir in Brockport.

Scott Hirschler '95 has been named the new principal at Scribner Road Elementary School in Penfield.

Tom Holmes '95 recently released a full-length collection of poems, Henri, Sophie, & The Hieratic Head of Ezra Pound: Poems Blasted from the Vortex, from BlazeVox books.  It will be available in bookstores, and is currently available on Amazon.  Holmes also has another book forthcoming this year: Poetry Assignments: The Book, and is the author of three other collections of poems.

Kari Henderson '96 was promoted to assistant office manager at Pinckney Hugo Group in Central New York.

Thomas J. Wisnieski '97 takes over as director of the Department of Veterans Affairs Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System in Biloxi, Mississippi.

2000s

Alyssa M. Zale-Srivastava '01/'06 was appointed interim CEO at Texas Panhandle Family Planning & Health Centers on July 17.

Weddings

Alyssa M. Zale '01/'06 married Dr. Ajay Srivastava on August 2, 2008.

Ryann Celentano'03 and Pierce Redmond were married on June 26.

Krysia Ann Golino '07 and Jonathan William Mager were married May 23, at Sacred Heart Church in Batavia.

Births

Christopher Green '95 and wife, Michelle, announce the birth of their son, Townson Michael Green, on Tuesday, July 28 at 11:34 am.  

Steve Lenox '97 and wife, Lauren, proudly announce the birth of their son, Matthew James Lenox on July 26 at 4:55 p.m.  He joins big brother, Alex.
