1960s

Dr. James S. Vacca '68 received a Child Abuse and Neglect /Family Violence Volunteer /Professional Award from the Suffolk County Advisory Committee on Child Protection and Suffolk County Task Force to Prevent Family Violence. Dr. Vacca resides in Huntington, NY, and is currently Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Special Education and Literacy at Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus.

1970s

Tom Sarkovics '70 just completed his 40th year at Starpoint High School in Lockport.  He retired after 34 years of teaching and coaching and is currently in his 7th year as Director of Athletics.

Len Jankiewicz '73 announced his retirement as Director of Athletics at Lancaster High School on August 30. Len will remain as the Redskins' head varsity football coach.

Bob Irwin '78 would like to announce the publication of his first book, "The Game In The Rain," available on Amazon.com.  It will be available in bookstores by September of this year.

Jimbo Barbarino, '79 has decided to take advantage of the power of FaceBook by creating a Parenting Blog called "E-Moirs Of A Stay At Work Dad". The link to the page is www.facebook.com/emoirs.

Lisa (Appel) Seidman '84 and husband Richard '84 celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2010.

Charlotte Francis '85 obtained her master's in public administration from Marist College in 2005.  Charlotte is enjoying traveling the world.

Renee Binns '87 is now a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator.  Binns practices at Binns Family Law Associates in Naples, Florida.

Kerry M. Hanlon '87 announces the formation of Bridgewater Environmental Sciences & Technology, LLC (BEST).  With more than 20 years experience in the environmental consulting industry, he founded BEST to provide cost effective environmental solutions to private businesses, local governments and advocacy groups.

1990s

Brian Lee '92 received his master's degree in library science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.  He is currently the public service librarian at the Southeast Steuben County library in Corning.

Chloe Anderson'95 will be the new Women Helping Girls Mentor Coordinator in Rochester starting in August.  In this position, she will work with both girls and mentors – recruiting, training, making matches, and supporting the mentor/mentee pairs.  She also will conduct the regular in-school meetings with the girls.  She has worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters as Program Coordinator and for the Monroe County Department of Social Services as a Child Protective Service Case Manager.  Currently, she is Program Director for her own organization, Aushi Maarifa, facilitating workshops on life skill topics. 

Michael Raber '95 was hired as the new head golf professional at The Shell Point Golf Club, located at Shell Point Retirement Community in Naples, FL.   He is a certified PGA Golf Professional, and has more than six years of head professional golf experience.

Lisa Feinstein '99 was recently named the Executive Director of Campaign Operations at SUNY Geneseo.  Previous to this position she served as the Senior Advancement Writer.

Lloyd Matthew Landers '99 was appointed the Director of the Genesee County Real Property Tax Department in addition to his current job title of Deputy Treasurer for Genesee County.

2000s

Lyndsay Jones '05 was promoted to Senior Accountant with Wojeski and Company.  Lyndsay began her career with Wojeski and Company in 2007 in the Tax Department.  She was previously with Gray CPA as a Staff Accountant.

Matt Hobbs '06 joined the WHAS 11 Team in Louisville, Kentucky as its Sports Director after spending the last five years working in Upstate New York.

R. Anthony Minervino Jr. '08 is now Ambulatory Clinical Informatics & Performance Improvement Manager with Unity Health System in Rochester.

Mike Gershon '09 has signed on as defenseman with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL for the 2010-2011 season.

Adam R. King '09 was hired at The School District of Osceola County as a 5th grade teacher in Kissimmee, FL.

Peg Burdick '10 has been named to the business administrator post at the Bath Central School district.

Patrick and Ryan Fallot '10 seem to do everything together. They roomed together at The College at Brockport, were both education majors, and this summer competed in the New York City Triathlon on July 18. They each completed a 1,500-meter swim in the Hudson River, a 40-kilometer bike ride along the Henry Hudson Parkway and a 10-kilometer run in Central Park. The twins did place well at the triathlon, with Ryan coming in 600th place with a time of 2:36, and Patrick coming in 1,200th place with a time of 2:49. There were approximately 4,000 participants.

Kyle Thompson '10 is now the lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist for local alt-rock outfit, As They Are. Currently, the band plays one gig per month, but "the more people hear it, the more it turns to something serious," Thompson says. More information about monthly gigs can be found on Astheyare.com.

Eric Francis Burkhardt '91 and Kelly Coyne Cosgrove were united in marriage April 24, 2010, at St. Camillus Catholic Church in New Castle, PA.

Christopher William Snyder '03 and Alexandra Helen Thomas were united in marriage May 7, 2010, at St. Andrews Church in Whitchurch, England.

Julie Schopp '06 and Ryan Lane were married on August 15, 2009.

Valerie Dimino '07 and Kevin Roy exchanged wedding vows on July 17, 2010.

Erika Schuh '08 and Robert Maxwell '08 exchanged wedding vows on July 2, 2010.

Births

Heather (Wilson) Hedges '99 and Mark Hedges welcomed a daughter, Megan Frances, on May 31, 2010. Megan joins big sister, Vivien, 18 months.

Rachel (Robinson) Collyer '00 and Dr. Robert Collyer '99 announce the birth of their first child, James Wyatt, on July 13, 2010.

Melissa (Frieday) Landers '00 and Lloyd Matthew Landers '99 welcomed a son, Benjamin Matthew Landers, on July 12, 2010.  Benjamin joins big sister, Kaitlyn Alyssa, 4 years old.
