1950s

Marilyn Zahler '53 recently retired as the volunteer coordinator of the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department Animal Control Reserve.  She is currently vice president of the Humane Society of Southern New Mexico.

1960s

Terry Magee '69 has joined the Wavestream Corporation as executive vice president, with responsibilities for business development, sales, marketing and product management.

1970s

James Howard Kunstler '71, nationally-known author, will attend a staged reading of his play "Big Slide."  The production, scheduled at the Multi-Use Cultural Community Center (MuCCC) in Rochester, is a three-act apocalyptic vision of early 21st century America.

Daniel R. Gould '73 received the honorary degree of Doctor Honoris Causa at the 40th anniversary of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel on December 9.  Gould is Professor of Applied Sport Psychology in the Department of Kinesiology and Director of the Institute for the Study of Youth Sports at Michigan State University.  Gould received his honorary degree from Rector Professor Paul De Knop, Mr. Eddy Van Gelder, Chairman of the university's Governing Council and his proximus, Professor Paul Wylleman.

Audrey Cooper '74 will be inducted into the Hilton High School Alumni Hall of Fame on February 5. 

Dr. Joan Sitterly '74 announced her retirement as Director of Athletics at SUNY Cortland.

Nancy Maess Hackett '75 received her doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Rochester Warner School in May 2009.  She is currently principal at Brighton High School.  She and husband, John Hackett '76, also celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.

Roger Crosley '78 has been named Executive Director of the Jack Grinold/Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.  Crosley is currently the Coordinator of Athletic Operations at Emerson College.  He also has been Publicity Director of the New England Football Conference (NEFC) since 1999.

1980s

Suzanne Pilon '87 was honored by President Barack Obama during a ceremony at the White House on January 6.  She was one of three SUNY graduates, and about 80 educators nationwide, honored through Obama's "Educate to Innovate" campaign for excellence in science and math initiative.  Pilon was recognized for her "contributions to teaching and learning" and "ability to help students make progress in mathematics and science," according to the Presidential Awards Web site.

1990s

Daniel P. Ireland '94 has been promoted from vice president of clinical support services to the position of vice president of operations at United Memorial Medical Center, Batavia, NY.

Justin Schubert '96 is Program Director at both WVBX and WWUZ radio stations in
Fredericksburg, VA.

Derek Nikitas '97 is earning strong reviews for his second novel, "The Long Division."

2000s

Jeffrey Reinholtz '01 was the featured artist in the Rochester D&C ROCnow for his photo "Human Commodity."

Tom Kuryla '04 has been appointed Commissioner of Social Services in Orleans County.

Chris Osburn '05 is a freelance writer and resident beer columnist of "Osburn on Tap" that appears monthly in THE FATHER LIFE.  He also writes about professional lacrosse for insidelacrosse.com and has written for Genesee Valley Parenting Magazine, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, and ESPN.com.  For questions, comments, or if you have a story idea for Chris, visit his website at http://www.chrisosburnwrites.com.

Margaret Krizan '08 completed SUNY Oswego's Superintendent Development Program under the direction of Dr. Glenn Wachter and Dr. Joseph Busch, School of Education.  Only 21 educators participated in this one-year program from all across New York State.  Krizan was the first teacher from an urban school to have completed the program. 

Theresa L. Bowick '09 is on the cover of the latest Weight Watchers magazine for her 68-pound weight loss, a prize that came with a four-day trip to New York City, a photo shoot and a $500 shopping spree.

Tim Barnosky '09 is the newest reporter for KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, TX.

Rachel R. D'Angelo '05 and Stephen J. Anderson exchanged wedding vows on July 11, 2009.
