Scholarships

There are many different scholarships available to help you pay for school.  If you are serious about becoming an Army Officer, and would like the opportunity to have the Army pay for your education, an Army Scholarship may be just the way to go.  The Army offers four-, three-, and two year scholarships.

Four-year scholarships are applied for in your last year of high school.  The scholarships available are the four-year, and three-year advance designee (adv) scholarships.  The four-year scholarship begins when you start college.  The three-year (adv) scholarship however starts at the beginning of your sophomore year.

The Army also offers three- and two-year scholarships that you can earn right here on campus.  Instead of competing with the entire nation for a scholarship, you're only competing with your fellow classmates.  During your freshman and sophomore years of college, you will have the opportunity to apply for a three or two-year scholarship.

Benefits

With a scholarship, the Army will not only pay for school, but will pay for your textbooks and give you a monthly stipend as well.  The stipend will vary depending on your year in school.  Right now, freshmen receive $300, sophomores receive $350, juniors receive $450, and seniors receive $500.  This stipend is TAX-FREE.

Also, if you have received an Army Scholarship, you may be eligible for a room waiver here on campus.  SUNY Brockport allocates a fixed number of rooms for cadets who are on scholarship.  If a room is available, you may be eligible for it.  Just one of the many incentives for accepting an Army Scholarship here at SUNY Brockport.
