Art Student Association

The Art Student Association (ASA) is a student membership Fine Arts organization that has become a significant and integral contributor to the overall quality of the Department of Art.

ASA was organized by art students to foster, direct and develop Art-related activities that increase the quality of the learning experience.  Additionally, it is funded through the Brockport Student Government mandatory fee. As of the fall 2006 semester, ASA has thirty members including student's pursuing their B.A., B.S., and B.F.A. degrees, as well as non-art majors. ASA is administrated and supported entirely through the efforts of student volunteers. The Art Student Association provides students with professional experience through organizing, hanging, publicizing, and maintaining all exhibitions shown in the Rainbow Gallery. ASA also provides students with slide-taking and mat cutting facilities, as well as publicity and a reception for all student exhibitions. The Art Student Association strives to educate students through a visiting artist lecture series, workshops, and an annual trip to museums and exhibitions outside of the Western New York area.
