Alternative Girlhood:
Diaristic Indulgence and Contemporary Female Artists

Assistant Professor Alisia Chase curates this exhibition, which features culturally significant and compelling work by contemporary female creators of comics, graphic novels and "zines." The "diaristic indulgence" and "persistence of feelings" in their art underscores an alternative version of girlhood and feminity. Their graphic world, often intentionally crude, presents us with a reality that most of society wishes to ignore.

Opening reception: Tuesday, January 24th at 4:00pm
