In December, we mounted Peter Weiss’ Marat/Sade, in a production for which director Michael Krickmire and the design team of P. Gibson Ralph (scenery), Gary Musante (lighting) and Gail Argetsinger (costumes) received recognition for Outstanding Accomplishment in Directing and Technical Support from the Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS). The student cast received recognition from TANYS for Outstanding Accomplishment in Ensemble Work. Adjudicator Ruth Legg, current president of TANYS said, “The students and faculty in the theatre department at SUNY Brockport provided the audience with a total theatrical experience that was exciting, thought-provoking, and, at times, almost overwhelming. The dedication and commitment to this production of Marat/Sade clearly demonstrates the professional level of theatre at Brockport.”
