In Spring 2005, we hosted a number of playwrights during our fourth biennial Festival of Ten, a performance of 10 ten-minute plays chosen from approximately 300 submissions.

The current run of visiting playwrights began in Fall 2004 with the department welcoming Dr. Carl Djerassi and Dr. Roald Hoffman, co-authors of Oxygen. In addition to their dramatic achievements, Dr. Hoffmann is a Nobel Prize winner in chemistry and a published poet. Dr. Djerassi is an internationally known chemist and author. Their visits to campus included discussions with the cast during rehearsals, a lecture by Dr. Djerassi on theatre and science, and participation in post-performance discussions with the audience.
