Max Zimmerman had two hits and two RBI against Augsburg
Golden Eagles beat Augsburg to snap short losing streak
Junior Max Zimmerman (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two runs batted in to lead The College at Brockport Baseball team to a 7-4 victory over Augsburg College in the first game of a doubleheader as the Golden Eagles snapped a short two-game losing streak in Arizona. The Golden Eagles dropped the second game of the doubleheader with Augsburg by a 5-3 score.
In game one, Brockport (5-6) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning when Zimmerman and Joe Zaccardo (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) opened the inning with consecutive singles. A sacrifice fly by Mike Meola (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) scored Zimmerman from third for the first run of the game.
