Rob Maxwell Named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team
Senior Rob Maxwell (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team as a Second-Team selection, which was announced and chosen by CoSIDA early this week.
The first baseman led the Golden Eagles with four home runs and tied a Brockport school record with 41 runs-batted-in this past season. He also hit an impressive .368 (49-133) with a team-leading 40 runs scored and 13 doubles, as he was named the 2008 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Player of the Year.
On the mound, Maxwell registered a 5-3 record with a 2.88 earned run average while compiling a team-high 50 strikeouts on the season.
