Whited Complex in Brockport. The Golden Eagles won the opener, 15-5.
Brockport (9-13) loaded the bases with a base hit by Max Zimmerman (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) after Todd Allen (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany) reached base on an error and Kris Gentzke (Clarence, NY/Clarence) walked. Medaille (4-12) retired the next two batters but a run scored on a groundout to tie the game. Joe Zaccardo (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) walked to load the bases for a second time and Gaudet followed with his game-winning single to right field.
The Golden Eagles scored in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead but Medaille grabbed a 2-1 lead with a pair of runs in the second inning before Brockport tied the score at 2-2 with another run in the bottom of the third. In the fourth, Medaille pushed across three runs for a 5-2 lead but the Golden Eagles scored twice in the fifth and then added the two runs in the seventh for its fifth consecutive victory.
In game one, Zaccardo was 4-for-4 with a double, a triple and three runs batted in to lead the Golden Eagles to a 15-5 victory. Brockport jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first inning on the strength of a Jason Michaels (Geneva, NY/Geneva) two-run home run. After Medaille scored twice in the second to close the gap, Brockport regained the five-run lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning. Both teams scored three times in the fourth and Brockport took a commanding lead with five runs in the fifth.
Michaels was 2-for-5 with the home run and two RBI and also contributed a double in game two. Cameron DeMayo (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk) picked up the pitching victory in game one in relief while James Williamson (Mexico, NY/Mexico) earned the win in pitching the seventh inning of game two.
