Senior Jason Michaels (Geneva, NY/Geneva) hit a three-run home run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give The College at Brockport Baseball team a come-from-behind 6-4 victory over RIT Wednesday in the first game of a non-league doubleheader at Clark V. Whited Sports Complex in Brockport. The Golden Eagles hit two more home runs in the nightcap to post an 8-2 victory to complete the sweep of the Tigers.

Brockport (13-15) fell behind 3-0 in game one as RIT (9-17) scored three times in the top of the third inning with five hits. The Tigers extended the lead to 4-0 with a bases-loaded walk in the fifth but Brockport finally got on the scoreboard with a single run in the bottom of the inning when Tom McCormick (Utica, NY/Utica Notre Dame) hit a two-out single, advanced to second on a passed ball and scored on an error.

After an RIT pitching change to start the sixth inning, senior Todd Allen (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany) homered on the first pitch of the inning to close the gap to 4-2. Two batters later, senior Jamie Rose (Hornell, NY/Hornell) cleared the left field fence and the batting cage beyond to bring Brockport to within a run at 4-3.

After an RIT 1-2-3 top of the seventh inning, McCormick connected on a one-out single down the leftfield line followed by a single to right field by Joe LaDuca (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) to put runners on first and second base. Michaels was the next batter and deposited a ball over the left field fence for the game-winning runs.

In game two, RIT took a 1-0 lead in the second inning with a two-out run as a result of a fielding error. Brockport responded in the third inning with two runs on a pair of singles and a double steal, allowing Jim Gaudet (Albany, NY/CBA) to score from third base.

Allen homered to lead off the fourth inning to give Brockport a 3-1 lead and after RIT scored in the top of the fifth, the Golden Eagles extended the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth, the last of which came by virtue of a solo home run by Mike Goldstein (Slingerlands, NY/Guilderland).

Goldstein singled home Rose in the sixth and later scored on a double by Mike Meola (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) for the final score.

On the day, Meola finished with three hits while Allen, Rose, Michaels, Goldstein and Gaudet each contributed a pair of hits. Allen and Michaels each knocked home three runs.
