Junior Allyson Granish (Binghamton, NY/Harpersville) scored 1:14 into the first overtime period to lead The College at Brockport Field Hockey team to a 2-1 victory over the University of Rochester Thursday afternoon in Brockport. The game was the final regular-season contest for the Golden Eagles.

Senior Amanda Pickard (Depew, NY/Lancaster) fired a shot at the Rochester (11-7) cage early in the overtime session but junior Danielle Pearson (Ilion, NY/Ilion) made the save and directed the ball to the side of the goal. Granish picked up the loose ball and tapped it in the empty side of the net for the game-winning goal for Brockport (11-7).

Rochester took a 1-0 lead 29 minutes into the contest as senior Erica Gelb (Baltimore, MD/Park) scored after her initial shot was blocked by Brockport’s Jessica James (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport).

Two minutes later, sophomore Kelly Henry (Glen Head, NY/North Shore) took a pass from Pickard off a Brockport penalty corner and found the back of the cage after shooting through a pair of Rochester defenders close to the goal.

Sophomore Jen Allen (North Tonawanda, NY/Wilson) made five saves for Brockport while Pearson stopped 18 shots for Rochester. Brockport held a 25-9 shots advantage in the game.
