Rowan (3-1 overall, 2-1 NJAC) scored three times in the first quarter and added two long scoring plays in the second quarter as quarterback Frank Wilczynski scored on a 67-yard run and defensive back Mike Barone took an interception 100 yards to the end zone to give the Profs a 35-0 lead.
Brockport (2-2, 1-2) put together a 10-play, 71-yard drive on the next possession and Aaron Zurn (Sidney, NY/Sidney) capped the drive with a five-yard scoring run to put the Golden Eagles on the scoreboard with four minutes left in the first half.
Rowan scored with 41 seconds left in the half for a 42-6 lead at the intermission.
In the third quarter, Rowan added two more touchdowns, both coming on interception returns. The first was a 45-yard return and the second was a 64-yarder to give the Profs a 56-6 lead.
The Golden Eagles added a late third quarter score on a one-yard Reidrick Alceus (Haverstraw, NY/North Rockland) plunge, and Andrew McCormick (Peru, NY/Peru) scored on a five-yard rush with nine minutes to play in the fourth quarter to end the scoring.
The 56 points allowed is the most in a regular-season loss since Buffalo State scored a 58-17 victory in head coach Rocco Salomone’s first season at the helm in 1995.
Alceus led the Golden Eagles with 82 yards on 15 carries and Zurn added 61 yards on 11 rushes. Senior quarterback Jake Graci (Farnham, NY/Lake Shore) had 50 yards on 10 carries as Brockport accumulated 226 rushing yards in the game. McCormick chipped in 24 yards on six carries in the fourth quarter.
Graci struggled passing the ball, completing just 18-of-35 passes for 155 yards and five interceptions. Three of the interceptions were returned for scores.
Zurn led the team with four receptions while Hector Rosas (Angola, NY/Lake Shore) and Tamere Shannon (Buffalo, NY/McKinley) each grabbed three passes.
Defensively, Derek DeCandia (Beacon, NY/Beacon) led the team with seven tackles, one for lost yardage, and broke up a pass.
