Gymnastics Places Third at Ithaca College
Golden Eagles fall to Ithaca and MIT

Junior Carrie Rock (Chambersburg, PA/North Hagerstown) scored a 9.6 in vaulting and a 9.5 on the floor exercise but The College at Brockport Gymnastics team scored a season-low 182.025 team points as the Golden Eagles dropped a three-team meet at Ithaca College Saturday afternoon with Ithaca and MIT.
Ithaca scored a 186.425 and MIT finished with a 182.625 to outscore the Golden Eagles.
Rock had a season-best 9.6 in the vault while Allyson Long (Old Forge, PA/Old Forge) notched a 9.175 and Chrissy Scaffidi (Oak Creek, WI/Oak Creek) added a 9.125 on the vault. Senior Stacy Johnson (Mechanicsville, MD/St. Mary’s) was the high scorer for Brockport on the bars with a 9.525. Amanda Giannone (Vestal, NY/Vestal) scored a 9.35wile Stephanie Baker (Akron, NY/Akron) and Lauren Gildemeyer (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) each scored 9.3 on the bars.
Rock’s 9.5 on the floor was the second best on the team as Brittany Burr (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) earned a 9.575 with her floor routine to lead the Golden Eagles.
