Junior Lauren Gildemeyer (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) recorded her season-best score on the floor exercise and senior Stacy Johnson (Mechanicsville, MD/St. Mary’s) scored her season-best with her bars routine to lead The College at Brockport Gymnastics team to a 187.6-182.15 victory over MIT in the final regular-season meet for the Golden Eagles Saturday at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Brockport (9-5) tied its best team score of the season and set a new school record with a team score of 47.825 on the vault. The previous record was 47.50 set at the 2004 NCGA National Championship meet.

On the vault, Gildemeyer won the event with a 9.675, followed by Kaitlin Dewey (Saratoga, NY/Saratoga Springs) who scored a 9.65. Carrie Rock (Chambersburg, PA/North Hagerstown) and Stephanie Baker (Akron, NY/Akron) each scored career-highs in the vault with 9.6 and 9.55 scores respectively. Johnson rounded out the scoring on the vault with a 9.35.

Johnson also scored a 9.375 on the bars and an 8.85 on the floor for a 37.200, good for a third-place finish in her first all-around competition at Brockport.

Four Golden Eagles recorded scores of 9.45 or better on the floor, led by Gildemeyer’s 9.825. Baker recorded a 9.6 while Christina Baggetta (Latham, NY/Shaker) added a 9.5 and Rock posted a 9.45.
