Junior Brittany Burr (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) has been voted The College at Brockport 2008-09 Outstanding Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year as voted on by the coaching and athletic administrative staff at the college. The award was presented at the annual Student-Athlete Celebration Saturday, May 10.

Burr was a key member of the gymnastics squad that finished as the national runners-up for the second consecutive season at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) National Championship meet. The floor exercise specialist for the Golden Eagles scored a season-high 9.575 in a dual meet against Ithaca College and posted a 9.5 at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Regional Championships where Brockport captured its second straight ECAC team title.

In the classroom, Burr currently holds a 3.96 grade point average and is a health science major at Brockport. She is enrolled in the 3+3 program and will complete her requirements at Brockport in May. She will continue her education toward a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Syracuse University beginning in the fall. She was selected as the SUNY Chancellor’s Award of Excellence winner for Gymnastics by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and was chosen as an All-Academic selection by the NCGA.
