The 1955 men's soccer team's national title was the first in the history of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and the first by a Rochester-area college; outscored opponents by a whopping 51-6; continued winning streak to 19 straight games from the 1954 season (ended in the first game of 1956); Peter Hinchey and Walt Schmid were named All-Americans and were joined on the All-State team by Irish McCalister, Tom Jarvie, Toby Atwell, Walter Cain, and Bill Hughes.

Two-year standout for the College’s volleyball team (1993 and 1994) and one of the best players in the program’s history; led the Golden Eagles to SUNYAC titles and NCAA appearances in both years; named an All-American after each season (second-team AVCA selection each year); also was named All-SUNYAC and All-Region both years; was a finalist for the local College Sportswoman of the Year Award as a senior; led the team in kills in 1993 and 1994 (more than 500 each season, the only player in school history to reach that level twice) and in aces in 1994, and still holds the school record for block assists and total blocks in a season; for her career, sits seventh in career kills (everyone above her played at least three seasons) and is ranked in the top five in several other career, season and match records.

Volunteered for the New York State (now Empire State) Games for the Physically Challenged as a student; before Brockport, was a standout volleyball player at Genesee Community College.

After Brockport, continued playing volleyball at a high level and has led her Empire State Games teams to medals on five occasions, including Gold medals in 1994 and 2006 and a bronze this past summer; was a fitness instructor and worked in a YMCA before becoming a teaching assistant in the Central Square School District.

Standout in both softball and volleyball for the Golden Eagles; played two years of both sports at Brockport; two-time All-SUNYAC and All-State performer in softball as an outfielder; led team in runs batted in and games played as a senior when the Golden Eagles captured both the SUNYAC and State Championships (1991); in volleyball, led Brockport to the NCAA Tournament each year; 1989 team was 38-5 and set a school record with 24 consecutive wins; 1990 squad was 34-10, won a match at NCAA East Regionals, captured SUNYAC title, and reached state finals; named All-SUNYAC and All-Northeast both years; still sits second in career hitting percentage (.314) and third in hitting percentage in a season (.356); co-captain both years in volleyball.

Standout athlete in swimming and diving and in numerous athletic activities as an undergraduate student at the College in the late 1960s; as a freshman, won the state title in one-meter diving at the 3rd annual New York State Meet (team finished 2nd); as a sophomore, led team to third undefeated dual meet season and first place at the State Meet; also played field hockey; as a junior, swimming team finished 3rd at the State Meet; played with newly formed soccer club; graduated in January of senior year; also  participated on the track and field teams as a sprinter and long jumper during her athletic career.

As a student, was treasurer of the Dolphins Swim Club, active member of the Women’s Recreation Association and was regional rep for the Atlantic Region Federation of College Women; was the class of '69 recipient of the Tuttle Award (Outstanding Female Health and Physical Education Major).

After Brockport, taught for 31 years at Brockport High School, helping create a selective physical education program that touched the needs and interests of all students and emphasized life-long fitness; coached numerous sports teams, all at high levels of success, including two Section Five team championships and three individual diving champions; recognized with major coaching awards from local and state-wide organizations; posted a soccer coaching record of 175-56-30 and never had a losing soccer season; has been a supervisor of student teachers for P.E. and Sport since 2000.

One of the top pitchers in the softball program in the late 1980s and early 1990s; four-year standout ended her career with a school record 31 wins (against just 12 losses with 2.15 ERA); named All-SUNYAC as a freshman and sophomore; in 1988 as a freshman, team was 21-7; helped team to SUNYAC title and an NCAA Regional berth as a sophomore in 1989; Brockport won both the SUNYAC crown and the state title in her senior year of 1991; Golden Eagles posted a record of 77-33 in her four-year career.

Before Brockport, was a standout at Patchogue-Medford High School, setting records for strikeouts in a game and season.

After Brockport, began career in education as a teacher and coach in West Seneca, Youngstown, and Amherst, NY; has been a physical education and wellness teacher in Amherst since 1993; also has coached basketball and softball.

Coached at five different institutions at the club, high school and collegiate levels for a total of 35 years; won numerous club and high school championships as a coach; also was a soccer referee, officiating tournaments and playoff teams with #1 rankings, such as University of San Francisco, UCLA, and Indiana; founder of Bozeman Adult Soccer League; former owner and director of Western Soccer Service, Inc. Cullen was a four-year varsity lacrosse and basketball player and a three-year tennis player. She was the co-captain of the varsity lacrosse team that participated in the AlAW nationals in 1975-76 and was the winner of the Ernest Tuttle Student-Athlete Award in 1975.

As a staff member at Penn State University-Scranton from 1977 to 1983, she coached basketball, volleyball, and tennis and was the recipient of the Penn State University Commonwealth Campus coach of the year award in 1982 for volleyball.

A two-year varsity wrestler, Foxen was the team captain in '73 and '74. A transfer from SUNY Maritime, he enjoyed a dual meet record of 22-0 in two seasons at Brockport. A three-time New York State college champion, he was named the SUNYAC Outstanding Wrestler in 1974. He earned NCAA All-America recognition in that same season.

Foxen's distinguished career in amateur wrestling includes three gold medals at the Empire State Games in the open division. A member of the U.S. national team which competed against the Soviet Union, Cuba and Japan, Foxen can boast of victories over 10 NCAA Division I champions during his stellar career.

Formerly active in coaching at secondary school and collegiate levels, Foxen started coaching as Don Murray's assistant in 1975. He became head coach at Deerfield Academy in 1978, assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts in 1979-80, and head coach at Amherst College in 1981 where he coached two Division III All-Americans,

Two-year member (1991-92) of the indoor and outdoor track and field teams and four-year (1990-93) field hockey player; 1992 NCAA Division III national champion in the 400-meter hurdles and a five-time All-American in track (400 meters and 55-meter hurdles indoors and 400 meters and 100-meter hurdles outdoors); one of only two women in school history to win an individual NCAA Championship; more All-American honors than any other Brockport female athlete; set 13 school records during track and field career, 12 of which still stand; Co-Female Athlete of the Year at Brockport in 1992; also was a standout on the field hockey team, scoring 10 goals and adding five assists in four seasons.

Named 1992-93 WVOR College Sportswoman of the Year for the Rochester area; SUNYAC All-Academic Team; Dean's List student five times, including perfect 4.0 GPAs in her final three semesters.

Following graduation, worked as a recreation therapist at New Orleans (LA) Children's Hospital; also was a resource assistant at Buffalo Children's Hospital; held several positions at the University of Rochester's Mt. One of the truly great athletes of the College's first generation; played varsity basketball and baseball at what was then the Brockport Normal and Training School (now SUNY Brockport); excelled in both, leading the basketball team to 13-2 and 10-3 records in 1928-29 and 1929-30; led both teams in scoring, averaging 10.5 points per game in 1929-30 (that year, the team only averaged 29.7 points per game).

Played semi-pro baseball and basketball after graduating from Brockport; worked in school administration, farming, and several other occupations before returning to teaching; retired in 1972 from the Brockport Central Schools.

Member of the 1967-68 freshmen swimming team; three-event SUNYAC freshmen champion (50 free, 100 free, and 200 fly); left Brockport after completing swimming career in 1971, but returned to the College to complete his history degree in 1989.

Received awards for carved walking sticks from the Canadian National Exhibition and the Finger Lakes Exhibition; presented Prince Philip with the Walking Stick "Gone But Knot Forgotten" on Yacht "Brittania" in 1984 during Queen Elizabeth's visit to Toronto; appeared in "West Side Story" as Officer Krupke with his two daughters at Greece Athena High School in 1995.

Color commentator for ABC's coverage of 1984 Olympics. Has served on dozens of local, national and international committees and published countless works within health and physical education field. Also taught at University of Maryland (1966-71) and Appalachian St. University (1971-74).

A three-year varsity baseball standout - he had 47 strikeouts in 44 career innings pitched and his three-year earned run averages were 1.30 (1951), 1.00 (1952), and 1.91 (1953); was the student-athletic director for one year, varsity club president, and also competed on cross-country team.

Engaged as assistant and head baseball coach at Goshen Central School for 25 years, Loffredo was the director and manager of the first American Legion baseball team in Goshen. He also served as junior varsity football coach for three seasons at Goshen.

Loffredo is actively involved in his community as a member of the Minisink volunteer fire company (31 years), Goshen planning board, and American Red Cross. He was the first recipient of Rosalie Weiss Memorial Award for outstanding achievement in Health Education by the American Lung Association (1974).

Earned multiple All-American honors while swimming the backstroke for the Golden Eagles in the 1970s; was an All-American in the 100 and 200 backstroke as a freshman, sophomore and senior, placing as high as second in the 100 back in 1977; also was 4th (1976) and 6th (1979) in the 100 back and 7th (1976), 6th (1977), and 6th (1979) in the 200 back; set school and SUNYAC records in both the 100 and 200 back; both school records still stand (longest records on the books); was a SUNYAC Champion in both events as a freshman and placed second as a sophomore and senior; also set a school record in the 200 individual medley and was a member of the record-setting 400 medley relay; competed for three years and was a captain once. Swam competitively for a Chicago Masters swim team from 1984 to 1988 and has been swimming for a New York Masters team since 1995. A standout performer on the football field and in the classroom as an undergraduate at Brockport; only player in school history named a National Scholar-Athlete by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame (following his senior season); earned an $18,000 post-graduate scholarship with the award (one of only two NCAA Division III players to receive it among 17 players across the country at all levels); was a two-time GTE College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American (as a junior and senior) with a grade point average above 3.8; as a junior, earned first-team All-American honors after finishing third in the nation with nine interceptions as the team’s free safety; also was named All-ECAC and All-East as both a junior and senior; earned the Burger King National Scholar Athlete of the Week award ($10,000 scholarship to the College’s general fund) as well. 

After playing, was honored as the College’s only SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence recipient in 1999, and was the SUNYAC Sam Molnar Men’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year recipient in 1998.

After Brockport, earned his master’s degree and is working as a physical therapist with Orthopedic Associates of Northern Ohio.

Served SUNY Brockport as athletic director (1990-95), head football coach (1986-94), assistant professor, coordinator of the sport management program (1984-90), and track and field coach (1984-85); led football team to first playoff appearance (1993) and holds record for football coaching wins (39); coached 22 football All-Americans; named 1985 SUNYAC Coach of the Year in track and field and coached two All-Americans.
Was responsible for the growth of the College's athletic program in the mid-1990s; was athletic director when Brockport won its last national championship (1992 in wrestling); oversaw improvements and upgrades to the athletic facilities and the addition of women's lacrosse as a varsity sport.

Huntley Parker Jr. Standout coaching career began at the University of North Carolina as a graduate assistant; followed with coaching stints at Wayne Central School, New Lebanon Valley High School, Dean Junior College, and Eisenhower College; began coaching at RIT in 1980 and guided the Tigers through 1995 before taking over at Nazareth College until 2003; had an overall collegiate coaching record of 251-120-38 in 24 years at the two Rochester-area schools; led RIT to the national championship game in 1988; earned National Coach of the Year honors in 1989 and was a five-time regional or conference coach of the year; won a conference crown in his last year at Nazareth. A three-sport athlete at SUNY Brockport, Ransbury participated in football, basketball and track and field. He also was a member of the leaders and officials club.

Ransbury began his professional career as a teacher and coach at various high schools throughout New York and New Jersey. He started his teaching career in elementary physical education with the Rochester City School District in 1955. The Silver Creek native returned to his hometown to serve as athletic director, as well as coach for football, basketball and track and field from 1956 to 1961.

In 1969, Ransbury assumed the rank of assistant professor at the University at Buffalo, where he also served as an assistant coach for both the football and basketball teams. He finished his teaching duties at Clarence Central School where he taught health and physical education - and coached football and freshman basketball. His coaching career continued at UB as an assistant football coach in 1986. Before retiring in 1989, he served as a part-time scout for the Buffalo Bills (1978-85).

Continued his success at the international level by placing sixth and fourth, respectively, in the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the 1968 Maccabiah Games in Israel; also a member of the record-breaking 400-meter relay team; appointed head track coach at Stony Brook in 1968; team went undefeated for the first time in the school's history; went on to coach at St. Andrew's High School in New York, and later coached post-college athletes on an individual basis.

Curtiss Gaylord called him "pound for pound, the best in Brockport history" back in 1955. He was 5'8", 126 pounds as a senior. Still holds school record for free throw attempts in season (187) and is second in free throws made in season (138). Both set in 1954-55.

Invited to try out for Rochester Royals in 1956. Played semi-pro with East Rochester Paul's 1955-59, helping compile 171-18 record. Played in national semi-pro tournament in 1967 and named First-Team All Semi-Professional. Named Rochester-Monroe Country High School Hall of Fame, 1979.

Selected to play in "Gem Bowl" in Erie, Pa. With other outstanding seniors at the end of the 1958 season. Scored ten points on a touchdown and two safeties in one season from his linebacker position. Scored Brockport's only points in a safety on a 2-0 win over Alfred in 1957, giving the Golden Eagles a 4-2-1 record, the first winning season at Brockport and still the best single season record in school history.

Two-year performer in cross country and track and field; considered one of the greatest distance runners in school history; placed 10th at the 1988 NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships to earn All-American honors; won the SUNYAC Cross Country title earlier that season; in track and field, set six individual school records, all of which still stand, including the 1,000, 1,500 and 5,000 meters at the indoor level, and the 1,500, 5,000, and 10,000 meters at the outdoor level; his mark in the 10,000 meters was set in 1988 at the state meet and still is the best in that meet's history.

Continued his running and racing career on both the regional and national level after graduation; won numerous races, including titles all over Rochester, Syracuse and other parts of New York State; captured the 10,000 meters at the Empire State Games in 1993; won Pittsburgh's Great Race with a 10K personal best of 29:31 in 1991; two-time winner of the Schenectady Stock-ade-a-thon 15K (1991, 1996); opened his own shoe and apparel store, the Sole Connection, in 2003 after a 15-year career learning the shoe and retail business.

Passed away in July 2005 at the age of 38 from sarcoidosis, a rare disease that strikes organs and, among other things, can cause shortness of breath.

Four-year member of the basketball team at the College; twin brother of fellow 2008 inductee John Vlogianitis; helped lead the resurgence in the basketball program at Brockport as the Golden Eagles won the 1994 SUNYAC Championship and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament; two-time All-SUNYAC selection and an honorable mention All-American as a senior (1993-94); heart and soul of the program in the early ’90s; exceptional rebounder (still second on the all-time list); had 24 rebounds in one game (highest total since the early ’70s); one of just 11 players in the program’s storied history to top 1,200 career points (ranked 11th with 1,201); also a very good long distance shooter (fifth in career three-point field goals with 146); also played one season of baseball for the Golden Eagles.

Upon graduating from Brockport, played a year of professional basketball in Greece; has hosted a basketball camp with his brother and friend and NBA star Wally Sczcerbiak.

Works for Bank of America as a Principal for Global Structured Product Sales; was previously employed by Citigroup and Smith Barney.

Four-year member of the basketball team at the College; twin brother of fellow 2008 inductee Jim Vlogianitis; helped lead the resurgence in the basketball program at Brockport as the Golden Eagles won the 1994 SUNYAC Championship (John was tournament Most Outstanding Player) and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament; three-time All-SUNYAC selection and an honorable mention All-American twice (1993-94 and 1994-95); versatile all-around player who could score inside and out and distribute the ball; led team in scoring twice and is eighth all-time in scoring with 1,313 points; still ranks fourth all-time in career assists and fifth in career free throws made; holds season record for free throw attempts; also played one season of baseball for the Golden Eagles.

Upon graduating from Brockport, played two years of professional basketball in Greece, a year in the United States Basketball League for the Long Island Surf, and a year with the New York Nationals (toured with the Harlem Globetrotters); has hosted a basketball camp with his brother and friend and NBA star Wally Sczcerbiak.

A four-year soccer player, three-year swimmer and baseball player, and two-year member of the track and field team; soccer team was 22-5-1 in four-year career and outscored opponents 103-25; three-time All-American selection in soccer and was the first 1st-team All-American at Brockport; also a three-time All-State first-team choice; as a track participant, was All-NYS in three years of competition in the 100-yard dash and the long jump.

Following a brilliant collegiate career, continued to play soccer in the semi-professional league in Rochester, NY that involved teams from Western New York, Pennsylvania, and Canada; also played on the U.S. select all- star team in Triborough Stadium in New York City against the Scottish International Team in 1943.

Resides in a Conesus Lakefront home for six months of the year and a condominium in Little River, SC for the other half of the year; enjoys swimming, fishing, and playing golf year round.

Coached men's and women's cross country and track and field at the University at Albany over a career that spanned 1974 to 1997; led 1984 women's cross country to 8th-place at NCAAs; four women attained 16 All-American citations in track and field; hosted numerous conference, state, regional, and national events; seven men's All-Americans in track; also coached men's swimming and diving; coached at Vestal and Letchworth High Schools before Albany.

Has run a total of seven marathons, including New York City three times and Boston once; employed as the Aquatics Director at the Capital District YMCA and as an adjunct lecturer at the College of St. Rose after retirement from Albany.
