Melissa Scorse and the women's 4x400 relay set new school standards February 21, 2009 Sophomore Melissa Scorse (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Mendon) once again broke her own school record in the 200-meter dash and the 4x400 relay of Kaitlin Breed (Manchester, NY/Manchester-Shortsville), Shannon O'Keeffe (Boston, NY/Springville-Griffith), Randi DeBoy (Salamanca, NY/Salamanca) and Amanda Elias (Belmont, NY/Genesee Valley) combined to set the school standard in their event at the Kent State Invitational Track and Field Meet Saturday in Ohio.
Scorse ran a :25.94 in the 200-meter dash, improving her own school record by 7/10 of a second. The relay completed the 1,600-meter race in 4:01.15 and shattered the previous school record by over four seconds.
For the Brockport men, Ray Lund (Thiells, NY/North Rockland) finished seventh in the weight throw with a 17.56-meter heave and teammate Matt Hand (Belmont, NY/Genesee Valley) was 10th in the event with an NCAA Championship provisional-qualifying distance of 16.69 meters.
