The awards were announced Thursday just prior to the start of the NCAA Division III National Championship March 13-14 at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Scorse broke her own school record in the 55-meter dash to start the season at the St. Lawrence University Invitational and then trimmed the record four more times during the season, including a winning time of 7.17 seconds at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship meet last Saturday at Tufts University in Massachusetts.
The sophomore also set the school record in the 200-meter dash, winning the championship at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships in February.
Scorse has been honored as the SUNYAC Female Track Athlete of the Week four times. She is one of the four athletes representing The College at Brockport at the NCAA Championships. Scorse will join Shannon O’Keeffe (triple jump), Ray Lund (weight throw) and Cevon Carver (long jump) at this year’s national championship meet.
