Senior Eamon Kays (Mexico, NY/Mexico) scored a team-high 18 points while fellow seniors Mychal Wilkes (Newark, NY/Newark), Joe Clarke (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) and Ian Mack (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) all added double-digit scoring as well, but The College at Brockport Men’s Basketball team dropped a close 78-75 decision to SUNY Oswego Saturday night in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game at the Tuttle North Gymnasium in Brockport.

Brockport (7-13 overall, 3-8 SUNYAC) trailed by as many as eight points with eight minutes remaining in the game but trimmed the lead to just a single point at 76-75 on a fast break layup by Kays, but a short jumper by Oswego’s Tommy Downing gave the Lakers (13-7, 9-3)a three-point lead with eight seconds to play. Brockport called a timeout and set up a play for Wilkes but his three-pointer with two seconds left was off the mark.

Brockport led 41-37 at halftime and the game was tied at 57-57 with 11:45 left but Oswego used a 6-0 run to take control and pushed the lead to eight at 67-59 with 8:05 left to play.

Kays was the scoring leader for Brockport with 18 points while Clarke and Wilkes added 12 apiece and Mack chipped in 11. Kays grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and Wilkes added three steals for Brockport.
