Senior Joe Clarke (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) scored 19 points and grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds to lead five players into double-digit scoring as The College at Brockport Men’s Basketball team upset top-seeded SUNY Geneseo, 78-64, on Tuesday in the first round of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament in Geneseo.

Brockport (12-14) advances to play SUNY Oswego at 8 pm Friday in Oswego after the Lakers were the highest-remaining seed to advance in the tournament with a win over Potsdam. Fredonia upset Oneonta in the 4-5 seeded matchup and the Blue Devils will face Cortland at 6 pm Friday at Oswego.

Against Geneseo, Clarke led the Golden Eagles after Geneseo had held him scoreless in the two previous meetings including the regular-season finale on Saturday in Brockport. Jermaine Johnson (Queens Bridge, NY/Long Island City) came off the bench to score 16 points, Mychal Wilkes (Newark, NY/Newark) added 13 points while Josh Zenkel (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and Andy Marchand (Rochester, NY/CG Finney) each scored 11 points for the Golden Eagles.
