Sophomore Matt Andon-McLane (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) took a pass from Mike Tammaro (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) and scored with 7:32 left in the fourth quarter to lift The College at Brockport Men’s Lacrosse team to a 9-8 victory over SUNY Oneonta Saturday afternoon in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game at Special Olympics Stadium in Brockport.

Brockport (3-3 overall, 1-0 SUNYAC) fell behind 2-1 early but battled back with three goals in the second quarter as the teams entered the halftime intermission tied at 4-4.

After Oneonta (4-5, 0-1) took a 5-4 lead early in the third quarter, Brockport netted four of the next five goals to take an 8-6 lead entering the final session.

In the fourth, Oneonta scored a pair of goals in the first seven minutes of the quarter to even the score at 8-8 before Andon-McLane scored the game-winner.

Andon-McLane finished with two goals and one assist and senior Joe Gomez (Amherst, NY/Amherst) had two goals and an assist to lead Brockport. Brian Loeffler (Islip, NY/Islip) added a pair of goals and Brad Olzinski (Johnson City, NY/Union Endicott) chipped in a goal and an assist.

Sophomore faceoff specialist Kyle Burton (Buffalo, NY/Amherst) won 17-of-20 faceoffs.
