Senior Joe Gomez (Amherst, NY/Amherst) scored early in the fourth quarter to give The College at Brockport Men's Lacrosse team a 5-3 lead but SUNY Oswego battled back and scored the final four goals of the contest to post a 7-5 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over Brockport Saturday at Special Olympics Stadium in Brockport.

Brockport (4-4 overall, 2-1 SUNYAC) lost for the first time this season in conference play. It also snapped a three-game win streak for the Golden Eagles.

Adam Drypolcher (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) and Matt Andon-McLane (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) each scored in the first quarter to give the Golden Eagles a 2-1 lead after one quarter of play. In the second quarter, Brad Cook (Vestal, NY/Vestal) scored his first goal of the season in the first minute of the quarter to boost Brockport’s lead to 3-1. Oswego answered with a pair of goals in the quarter to pull even at 3-3 at the halftime intermission.

Andon-McLane added his second goal of the game in the third quarter for a 4-3 Brockport advantage and Gomez made it a 5-3 lead early in the fourth before Oswego mounted its comeback.

Andon-McLane finished with two goals and one assist and Nate Thomas (Cortland, NY/Cortland) handed out two assists for the Golden Eagles.

Senior Garret Allwes (Amherst, NY/Amherst) made 14 saves in the Brockport goal.
