Senior Jeremy DeJohn (Jordan, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) and junior Brian Loeffler (Islip, NY/Islip) each scored once for The College at Brockport Men’s Lacrosse team as SUNY Cortland, ranked No. 8 in the latest national poll, scored a 14-2 victory Tuesday in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game in Cortland.

Brockport (5-6 overall, 3-3 SUNYAC) remains in fourth place in the SUNYAC standings with one game remaining in the regular season with the top four teams in the final standings advancing to the SUNYAC Tournament. The Golden Eagles play their final regular-season game against SUNY Plattsburgh who currently sits in fifth position in the standings with two games remaining on its schedule.

Against Cortland (11-2 overall, 5-1 SUNYAC), Loeffler scored the first goal of the game two minutes into the contest but the Red Dragons responded with the next 11 consecutive goals for an 11-1 lead at the halftime break. In the second half, Cortland scored the only goal in the third quarter for a 12-1 lead before DeJohn scored to open the fourth quarter. The Red Dragons added two late goals for the final margin of victory.
