Junior Adam Drypolcher (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) and sophomore Mike Tammaro (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) scored two goals each for The College at Brockport Men’s Lacrosse team but it was not enough to overcome an early eight-goal deficit in a 16-8 loss to SUNY Plattsburgh in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) matchup Saturday at Special Olympics Stadium in Brockport.

Brockport (5-7 overall, 3-4 SUNYAC) fell behind 7-0 in the first quarter and the Cardinals (9-7, 4-3) scored the first goal of the second quarter for an early 8-0 lead. Brockport scored twice with Nate Thomas (Cortland, NY/Cortland) and Brian Olzinski (Johnson City, NY/Union-Endicott) each scoring for Brockport. The teams traded goals for the remainder of the half and Plattsburgh led 11-3 at the break.

In the third quarter, Plattsburgh made it 12-3 before Tammaro scored both of his goals within a minute of each other to shave the lead to 12-5. The Cardinals responded with three straight goals before Drypolcher closed out the third quarter with his first goal of the game with just 28 seconds remaining in the quarter.

In the final quarter, Plattsburgh added a goal before Drypolcher scored his second of the game and Brian Loeffler (Islip, NY/Islip) slipped in a goal for the final score.

Senior Garret Allwes (Amherst, NY/Amherst) made a career-high 24 saves in the Brockport goal.
