The College at Brockport former Men’s Lacrosse player Apostolos Hatzigiannidis has accepted a grant from the Fulbright Commission for the Padagogischer Austauschdienst Teaching Assistantship/Fulbright Grant for the 2008-09 year.

Hatzigiannidis is a double major in international business and Spanish and is the first Brockport student to travel overseas as a Fulbright scholar. During the 10-month grant period, he will serve as an English teacher’s assistant in Germany.

The Padagogischer Austauschdienst Teaching Assistantship/Fulbright Grant is a combination of the Fulbright Grant and the Padagogischer Austauschdienst (PAD). This award places grantees as assistant teachers in English classes in all types of German schools. Program participants are expected to contribute to class discussions on American studies, politics, religion, geography, family life, sports and hobbies, etc.

Hatzigiannidis played two years for the Golden Eagles Lacrosse team, where he played in eight games as a goalie and made 15 saves.
