Junior Brad Olzinski (Johnson City, NY/Union-Endicott) was named The College at Brockport Men’s Lacrosse Most Outstanding Athlete for the 2008 season. Senior Tom Keenan (Brasher Falls, NY/St. Lawrence) was recognized as the Outstanding Scholar-Athlete award winner.

The 2008 Golden Eagles finished the season with a 6-7 overall record, but enjoyed a 5-1 start to the season. Sophomore Adam Drypolcher (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) led Brockport with 35 points on 24 goals and 11 assists. For his efforts, the attackman was named to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Conference Team. Joining him on the All-SUNYAC Team was senior Anthony Ventresca (Bridgeport, NY/Bridgeport) who was second on the team with 25 points, including a team-high 14 assists.

Ventresca finishes his career as the College’s all-time leader in points with 93 and assists with 59. Drypolcher, in only his second year is already Brockport’s career leader in goals with 56 and is third in career points with 71.

Olzinski scored 10 goals and had three assists for the Golden Eagles, and also picked up 30 ground balls. Freshman Mike Tammaro (Painted Post, NY/Corning West) and sophomore Pat Reilly (Fairport, NY/Fairport) each compiled over 20 points on the season.

The young squad will return seven of its top eight scorers from last season, two of its top three defenders, and starting goalie as Brockport will look to build on it success for the 2009 season.
