Senior Steve Abgarian (Merrick, NY/Bellmore-JFK) dribbled around the SUNY Oswego goalie and sent a shot into the open net with 7:30 left to play in the second 10-minute overtime period to give The College at Brockport Men’s Soccer team a 2-1 victory over Oswego in a 1-0 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game Friday afternoon in Oswego.

Abgarian took a pass from Brad LeFort (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) and moved in alone on the goalie. A quick move to the left past the sliding goalie gave him the open net to shoot for, and he netted his team-leading 10th goal of the season and fourth game-winner.

Brockport (6-4-2 overall, 4-2 SUNYAC) took a 1-0 lead late in the first half as Jamey Crumb (McGraw, NY/McGraw) headed in a corner kick from the foot of Jeff Palumbo (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) with just 1:17 left in the first half.

In the second half, Oswego (4-8, 3-3) scored with under 10 minutes to play in regulation to send the game into overtime.

The Lakers were held without a shot in the overtime periods while Brockport finished with two shots, including Abgarian’s game-winner.
