Senior Brad Lefort (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) headed in a cross from junior Jeff Palumbo (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) late in the first half to lead The College at Brockport Men’s Soccer team to a 1-0 win over SUNY Geneseo in the semifinal round of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament Friday afternoon in Plattsburgh.

The Golden Eagles (10-4-2) will play SUNY Plattsburgh for the SUNYAC Tournament title at 1 pm Saturday in Plattsburgh. The winner of the SUNYAC Tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

With 33 minutes elapsed in the first half, Palumbo took the ball deep into the corner of the field and made a move to free himself from a Geneseo defender before lofting a crossing pass into the box where Lefort leaped to head in the ball from in front of the Knights' goal.

The Golden Eagles had a 10-4 advantage in shots until late in the second half when Geneseo (9-7-2) applied pressure but the Brockport defense held on for the victory.

Junior Joe Marino (Rochester, NY/McQuaid) made four saves to earn the victory and record his sixth shutout of the season.
