Head Coach: Brian Cole
Brian Cole has been hired as the head men’s and women’s Cross Country and Track and Field coach at The College at Brockport as announced by Director of Athletics Lin Case.
Cole comes to Brockport after serving as the assistant Track and Field coach at Tiffin (OH) University, following an eleven-year stint as the head coach of the Ohio Northern University Cross Country, Track and Field Teams. He also coached for five years as the Head Coach at Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC.
“We are very pleased to add Brian to our coaching staff,” said Lin Case, Director of Athletics at The College at Brockport. “He brings a wealth of knowledge to the position and has the ability to continue the progress of the Track and Cross Country programs that have garnered national honors here at Brockport.”
Throughout his career, Cole has coached three individual National Champions, 52 All-Americans, 153 Conference Champions and 593 All-Conference selections. He has earned 13 Coach of the Year honors and guided six of his teams to Conference Championship titles.
Cole has acted as the meet director of the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships three times and the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships twice. He has been an active member of the Division III Track and Field Coaches Association and most recently served as the President from 2004 to 2006.
A native of Tiffin, Ohio, Cole is a 1991 graduate of Methodist College where he earned a bachelors degree in History and is currently pursuing a M.B.A with a concentration in Sport Management.
Assistant Coaches
Ed Jaskulski
Ed Jaskulski enters his seventh year with the track & field program. In 2009, Jaskulski was promoted to interim head coach for the Outdoor Track & Field squads and was selected as the SUNYAC Coach of the Year for women's track and field as the Golden Eagles captured their first SUNYAC title for the women.
Jaskulski works primarily with the throwers and serves as the team’s strength and conditioning coach. He will apply his extensive strength and conditioning knowledge to the development of weight training regimens for the student-athletes.
He has coached 12 NCAA participants, 11 All-Americans, 17 SUNYAC Champions, 17 State Champions and one ECAC Champion. In addition to the 2009 Women’s Outdoor Championship he has coached the men’s (2007 and 2008) and women’s (2008) outdoor NYSCTC Championship team and the 2007 men’s indoor ECAC Championship team.
Outside of Track and Field Jaskulski has served as the assistant football coach for Greece Arcadia high school from 2006-2009 and he spent three summers working the Anthony Bianchi Offensive line clinic in Rochester.
Jaskulski holds a bachelors degree from The College at Brockport in Physical Education and is currently enrolled in the masters program for Physical Education/Pedagogy.
As an undergraduate, Jaskulski was a captain for the Golden Eagle football team, as well as a shot put and discus thrower for the track and field teams. As a senior, Jaskulski narrowly missed qualifying for the Division III nationals is the shot put. In the weight room, Jaskulski formerly held the program record power lifting (1,735 lbs.).
Andy Fetzner
Fetzner is in his third season as the Pole Vault coach for the men and women. He is a graduate of SUNY Brockport where he was a member of the indoor and outdoor track and field program for four years and was captain for two.
Fetzner has coached multiple state and SUNYAC champions as well as other successful vaulters at Brockport. Aside from his colligate coaching experience; his extensive knowledge of the pole vault along with a dedicated crew has led him to run the Golden Eagle Pole Vault Clinic for the past three years. This event annually draws over 100 pole-vaulters from across the state and addresses safety, unique training methods, and a general promotion of the sport.
He also coaches Hilton junior varsity volleyball and is an assistant coach for the indoor and outdoor track and field team there as well.
Tim Giagos
Tim Giagios enters his third year with the College at Brockport men’s and women’s Track and Field Program. Giagios works with the sprinters and hurdlers and has helped coach three NCAA participants, eight SUNYAC champions, one State champion and one ECAC champion.
Before arriving at Brockport, Giagios was an assistant coach at Gates-Chili High School, where he was a part of three Sectional Championships, and also coached four individual Sectional Champions, three New York State Championship participants, and two National Qualifiers. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
A 2005 graduate of Buffalo State College, Giagios earned a bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness with a concentration in coaching. Giagios was a member of the track and field program for the Bengals and was the SUNYAC champion in the 500m in 2004. He is a three-time All-SUNYAC selection. Prior to attending Buffalo State, he was a member of the University of Buffalo’s track and field team where he was a Division I scholarship athlete and was named to the second team Mid-American Conference (MAC).
