April 18, 2009
Junior Brandon Lindsay (Macedon, NY/Wayne) won the long jump and triple jump, Melissa Scores (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Mendon) won the 100 and 200-meter dashes, Lauren Mesi (Clarence, NY/Clarence) won the 3K steeplechase and the javelin throw while Shannon O'Keeffe (Boston, NY/Springville-Griffith) took first in the 100-meter hurdles and the triple jump to lead The College at Brockport Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field teams in the Brockport Invitational Meet Saturday at Special Olympics Stadium in Brockport.

O'Keeffe qualified provisionally for the NCAA Championships in the triple jump with a leap of 11.78 meters and was one of three Golden Eagles to earn provisional standards at the meet. Both Dom Gonzalez (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) and Bridget Mayne (Schoharie, NY/Schoharie) improved their NCAA provisional marks in the hammer throw. Gonzalez was the top collegiate finisher in the event and tossed a 53.33-meter distance while Mayne added nearly two full meters to her previous NCAA-qualifying throw with a winning toss of 48.32 meters.

Mayne had a busy day as she also finished fifth in the shot put, seventh in the javelin throw and eighth in the discus for the Golden Eagles.

Additional first-place finishes for Brockport included Amanda Elias (Belmont, NY/Genesee Valley) in the 400 meters, Melissa Wassink (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) in the 800 meters, Becky Fabiano (Lockport, NY/Lockport) in the pole vault, and Nicole Sosnoski (Elmira, NY/Elmira Southside) in the long jump for the women. On the men's side, Pete Manktelow (Hornell, NY/Hornell) won the 1,500 meters and Rusty Landon (Ithaca, NY/Lansing) took top honors in the 400-meter hurdles.
