Track & Field Competes at ECAC Championships
Eight Golden Eagles earn place finishes

Sophomore Melissa Scorse (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Mendon) took second in the 100-meter dash and was sixth in the 200-meter dash while Ray Lund (Thiells, NY/North Rockland) was the third-place finisher in the discus and the seventh-place finisher in the hammer throw to lead The College at Brockport Track & Field teams at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship meet at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The Brockport women finished in 11th place as a team with 27 total points and the men tied for 17th place with 18 points. Moravian College won both the men’s and women’s titles.

Scorse ran a 12.50-second time in the 100 and a 25.68 in the 200 to lead the women. Shannon O’Keeffe (Boston, NY/Springville-Griffith) was second in the triple jump with a leap of 38 feet four inches, Bridget Mayne (Schoharie, NY/ Schoharie) was fourth in the hammer throw (159’2”) and Stacey Gibbons (Eden, NY/Eden) was sixth in the discus (126’).

For the Brockport men, Lund had a third-place toss of 150’8” in the discus and was seventh in the hammer with a heave of 168’8”). Dom Gonzalez (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) was fourth in the hammer with a toss of 178’6” while Rusty Langdon (Ithaca, NY/Lansing) took seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.66 second and Cevon Carver (Bronx, NY/Dewitt Clinton) finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.20 seconds.
