Meeting Minutes
Secretary: Laura Reisdorf

Susan Hoffman – Introduction of SAAC Advisors and Officers

    • Discussion of new election procedure for officers – elected as “officer elect” in January, become official officers in fall of next semester
    • Name Game!

Traci Lian – CHAMPS/Life Skills Competition

    • Eagles Supporting Eagles now 100 points as opposed to 50
    • Team Enhancement lowered to 50 points – 2 per month max
    • SAAC communication – up to 30 points per meeting
    • Eagles Supporting Eagles – new rule? Stay for at least ½ game or 10 minutes? *Very frustrating when teams sign in then leave immediately.
      * Issues with in-season teams and practice schedules. Decision for now: Leave it the way it is, just expect SAAC representatives and team captains to use the honor system and be respectful of their fellow athletes.

Susan Hoffman – Freshman Extravaganza review

    • 38 upperclassmen helped out (yay!)
    • Comments: was a little unorganized, possible smaller teams, maybe split into teams when the athletes arrive; estimates of number of athletes given by coaches too rough to create even teams ahead of time.

Chad – NCAA Leadership Conference in Florida

Susan Hoffman

    • Student athlete mass this year? Yes.
    • ROTC come talk to SAAC? No.
    • Body Awareness in place of SAAC meeting? Yes.
    • Tips Training? Vote next meeting.
    • Sept. 11 th – TN Rehabilitation meeting 6 pm.
