Meeting Minutes
September 6, 2006


Present: Baseball,M & W. Basketball, Field Hockey, M & W. Cross Country, Football, Gymnastics, M. & W. Lacrosse, W. Soccer, Softball, M. & W Swimming and Diving, M. & W. Track & Field, Volleyball

Absent: Ice Hockey, Wrestling, Men's Soccer, Tennis

1. Ice breaker and introductions

2. Went over new Champs/LifeSkills Competition Rules

3. Reviewed SAAC Constitution, important dates

4. Newman Center

"Blessing of the Athletes" will take place on September 17th at 7:30 p.m. student mass. All are welcome. Athlete's interested in volunteering to participate contact Susan (shoffman@brockport.edu)

5. Freshman Extravaganza Recap
  • everyone liked the scorecard idea
  • positive feedback from most athletes
  • maybe add an additional team to make groups smaller
  • involve the Health Center more in the scavenger hunt
6. Goals for SAAC this year
  • have more participation at meetings
  • extend varsity gym hours
  • show more support amongst teams
  • see more Brockport apparel worn around campus
  • advertise home games through bulletin boards across campus as well as the television in the Tuttle North food court
  • Have a Halloween canned food drive
Announcements:
  • Alcohol Awareness next week on campus Sex Signals - September 18th at 7 p.m.
  • A new athletic website will be launched in mid-October
  • Next SAAC meeting is Wednesday, September 20th at 9 p.m.
