Meeting Minutes
September 20, 2006
Present: Baseball, M & W Basketball, Field Hockey, M & W Cross Country, Football, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, M. & W. Lacrosse, M & W. Soccer, Softball, M. & W Swimming and Diving, Tennis, M. & W. Track & Field, Volleyball, Wrestling
Absent: All teams present!
1. Fall Sports Recaps
2. Blessing of the Athletes Recap
- Positive feedback from those that attended
- Inspirational and would attend again
- Approximately 45 student-athletes attended
3. Dave McAlpin reviewed NCAA Leadership Conference in Florida
- Great experience and a lot of fun
- Watched DVD recap
- Anyone Freshman-Juniors interested in applying see Susan or Traci
4. Holiday Helping Hands
- We will again be collecting money from $2.00 each student-athlete
- If you can't give up the $2.00 see about doing a empty can drive or donate some of your trip meal money.
- Collection date TBA
5. Halloween Can Food Drive
*Split into groups to plan
- Flyers - Collecting non-parishable food items, Tuesday, October 31st, 7-8 p.m. Donations going to the Brockport Food Pantry
- Distribution - Put flyers in doors not mailboxes/X-Country team will hand them out/hand them out at games/10 days prior to Halloween/contact R-News, The Point, Athletic Website, Suburban News
- Map the area
- Pick-up - 6 people per group/1 big green travel bag per group/hand out fall schedule cards and leaf raking flyers/dress as a different sport?/use athletic vans
6. Recreation Center
*Broke into groups to discuss priorities and ranked the top 5
Announcements/Reminders:
- Hall of Fame dinner is Saturday, September 30th at 6:30 p.m. We need two student-athletes from each team to attend
- SUNYAC Female Coaching Symposium, March 2nd-4th. Any females in their third or fourth year of eligibility is eligible. See Susan or your SAAC rep for an application.
- Next SAAC meeting is Wednesday, October 4th at 9 p.m.
