Brockport (24-7-1 overall, 13-3 SUNYAC) fell behind in the third inning when Cortland (31-3, 15-1) scored a pair of runs with three hits including a double. In the sixth inning, the Red Dragons added to the lead with a sacrifice fly.
In the seventh, Kim Gabor (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) walked to open the inning before designated player Tarah Wetherby (Olean, NY/Olean) laid down a bunt single. Pringle followed with a home run over the scoreboard in left field to tie the game at 3-3.
In the eighth, Cortland stranded a runner on second base before Brockport came to the plate for the bottom of the inning. Gabor hit a one-out single down the right field line but was forced out at second base on a Wetherby infield chopper. Pringle followed with her second home run of the game with a shot over the left centerfield fence.
In game two, Cortland scored the only run of the game in the sixth inning after a fielding error allowed the leadoff hitter to reach second base. A sacrifice bunt advanced her to third and then a single up the middle scored her from third.
On the day, Rachel Maxon (Kendall, NY/Kendall) was 3-for-8 and Gabor was 2-for-4 with two walks. Pringle finished with her two home runs and five runs batted in. Stephanie Geer (Binghamton, NY/Seton Catholic) struck out nine batters in the opener and Kelly Briscoe (Stuyvesant, NY/Ichabod Crane) scattered five hits and struck out three in the nightcap.
