Sophomore Stephanie Geer (Binghamton, NY/Seton Catholic) has been named the winner of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award of Excellence for Softball by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). Geer sports the top grade point average among the All-SUNYAC selections for softball.

Geer led The College at Brockport Softball team to a 28-13-1 record and a second place finish in the final SUNYAC regular season standings. Geer had team highs for games pitched (21), pitching victories (14), innings pitched (143 2/3) and strikeouts (157). Her 1.09 strikeouts per inning pitched established a new school record at Brockport. She was a first-team All-Region selection by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and was an All-SUNYAC selection as well as a selection to the SUNYAC Tournament All-Tournament team.

The sophomore pitcher is a Chemistry major with minors in coaching and economics and has earned Dean’s List with Honors in each of her first three semesters at Brockport.
